Precious wood. This pompous term, which means everything and nothing, is common in perfumery. Especially in marketing speak olfactory pyramids. And then you have to see what we put into it to make us valuable these woods: often cheap materials that feel good strong story that Ramone well and we have the impression of having for its money. Yet what makes something valuable is what it unique, rare and beautiful at the same time. The real luxury is not the monogram that appears on his bag. So no need to get out the big guns to make them noisy precious woods! Alberto Morillas have us prove it by signing Golden Rosewood, the fifth installment of Aedes Venustas.
If this is a wood that stretches from the head to the bottom of the perfume, it is so husked, chiseled, glossy, polished and lacquered patina that casts doubt. Nothing is left to chance, everything comes together in a perfectly orchestrated woody melody.
The attack is through the bark; raw, brown and scorched, it exalts the rough and rich woody smell of patchouli and cedar, while bristling with pink peppercorns and spices cold almost spicy. Then, little by little, one penetrates the flesh of wood, from ever further. A silky veil of cocoa mixed with roasted notes and cereal sprinkled frame that smooth little by little. A floral spectrum, half white flowers, pink mi, embraces the composition and eventually initiate the patina in a milky effect, soft and sweet wish. The heart then ignites a cinnamon, fueled by advanced smoke and amber and then relayed by precisely metered balms which pulse until the bottom of the perfume. She is so blended into the cellulose layers of cedar, sandalwood and patchouli it seems to play a supporting role, yet it was she who serves as a binder and nourishing sap ending, for the most spicy aspects, sweetest and most glittering inlay of the trunk to the core.
Then time does its work: it all fits together, binds into a delicious wake androgynous, diffuse and silky, golden powder and some dried fruit confit. A soft patina finish on this valuable hardwood in its material, chiseled in his work and radiant in his review.
